My ride pulled up with a Mimosas ready for me & we had 2 more girls to pick up, then we were off to Sedona, AZ. This girls trip couldn't have come at a better time. This has been the most busy season for me in my business & I love every minute of it, but needed some me time to press the refresh button for my family.
Boarded the plane and said peace out Columbus. We all sat next to each other & not even in the air 10 minutes when Marjie covers herself in water from the air pressure in her water bottle . We didn't have children with us but were a mess already.
Once we touch down in AZ & got our rental mini van we headed to eat lunch at Otro Cafe before our 2 hour car ride to Sedona. The food there was amazing we all couldn't stop talking about the tacos.
We pulled in to Sedona in the dark so we had no idea what beauty was surrounding us. We stayed at Jan's husband's aunt vacation condo - it was the perfect location for us & are very thankful for her to give us the opportunity to stay there. We unpacked the bags from the car & headed to Safeway (which I hadn't been to one since Alaska).
4:30am came around so quickly but we were off to the Grand Canyon to see the sunrise & do a hike. This by far was the most amazing experience & who ever wants to see the Grand Canyon it's worth the early rise. Not to mention we got in for free because of it being Veteran's Day. You go through the park entrance & park at Mather Point walk thru the path into a whole different world it's breath taking. People were sitting on rocks as far out as they could go with blankets wrapped around them because of the chill in the air.
We then hopped on the shuttle to take us to South Kaibab Trailhead. We had our water & appropriate hiking gear - well Amy did we had lipgloss & our cameras :). We were off - I was very hesitant in the beginning because my mind starts racing on all the bad things that could happen & not even about the heights. In the end thank you so much to Katie for staying by my side to get me down to the bottom of our trail. While down at the bottom we stacked rocks for anyone we were thinking about (I said lots of prayers for ones no longer with us & who I wish was here to to do this experience). Now the hike back up Joy & I were out of breath and we had only gone 100 yards.
The hike was amazing it made me feel so thankful for what our world has given us to enjoy. Nature is beautiful & it was a moving experience to do this with the girls. After the hike we went to El Tovar for lunch & walked around the shops.
Back at the condo we got ready to head out for a night on the town (we have been up since 4:00am:). At Olde Sedona Bar we were told only 2 bars are open past 9:00pm so needless to say those were the only places we hit up that night.
The next morning we headed to Jerome for lunch at Haunted Hamburger & to walk around the town. It's a haunted town with a lot of history of mining. From here we went on a jeep tour in Sedona with Red Rock Jeep Tour. I couldn't stop laughing at the start of the tour because going over the bumpy road and trying to have a conversation was hilarious. We did the sunset tour - we got to the top of the mountain to take photos & breath in the moment of being so high up looking over natures beauty.
We went back & got ready to head to dinner at El Rincon - the setting here was a perfect way to end our last night & the cocktails were amazing.
Last day we decided to go to the Stupa Peace Park + Vortex, take a picture with the Turquoise McDonalds sign because it's the only one & climb one last mountain by the Sedona airport. We all weren't ready to head back to reality, but very thankful I got to experience this trip with such wonderful ladies that had the best time together.....UNTIL NEXT TIME.
